GH&I Community Service Day Participants Tally Up the Volunteer Improvement Projects at Atlanta’s Jerusalem House

ATLANTA, GA – Atlanta-based certified public accounting and advisory firm Gifford, Hillegass & Ingwersen LLP (GH&I) dedicated this year’s annual day of service to a local nonprofit organization, Jerusalem House. More than 50 GH&I accountants, staff and family members worked in teams to fulfill a variety of outdoor tasks at Jerusalem House, Atlanta’s oldest and largest provider of permanent supportive housing for individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS.

New this year, GH&I’s Community Service Day coincides with the inaugural Leading Edge Alliance (LEA) Young Professionals Group Global Volunteer Week. Member firms worldwide, including GH&I, were encouraged to choose a charity they wished to support. Participating firms have chosen a wide range of organizations and volunteer activities, from homeless shelters and animal shelters, to school supply drives, to cleanup efforts in local parks.  ***NOTE: color photos from volunteer project are available online at http://bit.ly/qyyH5r.***

Annually, GH&I’s designated young leaders research and identify a charitable organization, coordinate and plan aspects of the volunteer projects and manage all details of the Community Service Day. At Jerusalem House’s family program facility, GH&I volunteers split up into teams to stain and paint fencing, clean up the grounds, power wash and repair playground equipment and clear brush.
