Future leaders of our firm get a firm foundation in GH&I’s Young Leaders Group.
In 2005, GH&I’s Young Leaders Group (YLG) was formed, made up of staff, senior staff, first year managers and current interns. It was founded for the desire to foster networking and camaraderie among the group, allowing for bonds to be formed as they grow and journey in their professional career. In addition, the younger members of our firm are provided a foundation to potentially grow them into future leaders of GH&I and ongoing stewards of the community. In the journey, YLG may provide feedback to the partner group of the firm on ideas and issues of importance, and they will gain a history of GH&I, its people and origin of success.
Quarterly YLG meetings are held on topics of interest and relevant to the growth of the YLG professionals. The group is supported by a chairperson and supporting committee members from each of GH&I’s practice areas, and subject matter speakers may come from inside and outside the firm. The group hosts a variety of ‘after hour’ socials in settings from ball games to dinners and more.
For a broader community experience, YLG organizes the firm’s annual community day, where all GH&I employees come together to participate in a day long service project at the site of a selected not-for-profit organization. Bonding is high when its between professionals who might be cleaning camp cabins one year, or planting bushes and spreading mulch to refurbish a park-in-need in another year. And the young leaders demonstrate their organizational skills and charitable nature as future leaders of the firm.
